About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My biggest lifetime goal is nothing admirable or impressive, simply to be a father and have children someday.

ABOUT ME

I tend to be an academically oriented person. I'm a dork or a nerd, I enjoy researching into and learning about various topics. As a linguistics and philosophy major, language and ideas are the hub of my thoughts. I'm always thinking about language, especially linguistic temporality and modality. My great child of mind is a language I construct slowly over the years. This fuels my passion for understanding natural and constructed language. At the same time, I'm a very nature oriented. I love being out in nature, especially the woods! I love animals and treat them as companions more than as pets. I honestly think I miss my dog Bailey more than my family... I walk barefoot when its not winter, except in big cities. At school, I'm usually barefoot. Class, the library, events, the gaming room, it's a matter of comfort.

PHILOSOPHY

Reality is an illusion, to which the mind and heart desperately clings. There is no meaning in life, or in anything, but the meaning we create, and yet we need meaning in our lives. So do not search for meaning, but create it. Don't worry too much about "the real world." Understand and relish in your own reality, and in those of others.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had four couchsurfing experiences at this point, all in the course of two weeks! I stayed with three different people during a week's stay in Paris and then a friend hosted my boyfriend and I in Italy for about five days.

Interests

I love languages and language itself, especially the systems of modality, temporality, evidentiality, epistemics, and voice that can be found in natural and constructed language. As well, I study and love philosophy. I'm a nature boy. I love animals, especially dogs, mountains, forests, grassy fields, hiking, taking walks in the woods, biking, swimming, napping on boulders. At the same time, I love to play certain video games. There's nothing like a rainy afternoon of Pokémon, Zelda, Skyrim, or Assassin's Creed. During the spring, summer, and autumn, I'm usually barefoot wherever I go.
