One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I moved across the country from Bay City, MI to Reno, NV my eyes were truly opened to the grand majesty of this country. Never before had I experienced mountains, Desert and beyond a brief encounter, the ocean. As soon as financially feasible I loaded up my newly acquired subaru and set off to explore the west. In 8 days I travelled 2100 miles by car, ~50 miles by foot and visited Death Valley, Mojave National Preserve, Joshua Tree Natl. Park, Lake Havasu, Oatman AZ, The Grand Canyon, Zion Natl. Park and the Hoover dam. It was a non stop tour of amazement and freedom, which taught me of all the wonders in this wide open end of the country.
