ABOUT ME

i am 49 and a person/woman/partner/mother/grandma! and happy to be so. getting older = exciting and satisfying. my parents would have been 92 now. my dad was mixed blood dutch-indonesian(born and raised in indonesia), my mother was a gipsy-at-heart dutch lady, and rather a-typical for her era. they both gave me heaps of skills and love. they also told me many of their life's stories, stimulating one of my lasting interests and curiosities in life: people, and their historical, cultural, socio-economical, spiritual and dramatic contexts. i was born and raised on the beach in holland, left for england and wales when i was 18, emigrated to new zealand when i was 24. that's where i raised my kids(now 27, 26 and 19)and lived a pioneering lifestyle. re-emigrated to france 5 years ago with my youngest. neither of us spoke a word french and we didn't know a soul, but now we do! (speak fluent french, both have partner and friends). i have done heaps of different jobs and activities in my life; always people orientated, expressive, and always combining the brain with action. not one for office jobs! i have no fixed abode at this moment in time (after 28 years of making a home!) as kids all grown up (one is living with her argentinian partner and their babygirl in holland, the other is working in australia, and the third is living in london). but my base is with my french partner in montpellier! (his couch, is my couch, could be your couch). about me? i love exploring/developing ideas and potential. leave me alone anywhere outdoors and i'm happy! and i enjoy good company too. my intuition is in tact. i like to move around often. good for the soul! lol

PHILOSOPHY

my 'mantra' could be: be open, in the present, enjoy, our actions create. repeat/etc.
where i get in the way, is for example with cynicism. or wisdom and insight turning into debilitating detail, and little claws of fear. fear is the biggest sucker. so it's back to: be open, positive, enjoy! etc. oh and humour does the rest!!!!

i'm lucky: i don't hunker for earthly goods much. simplicity rules/makes me happy. as long as i can move around, see my kids, be with people, share exciting projects, be outside, talk,read,laugh,think and cry.. then i'm like a fish in the sea.
