About Me

CURRENT MISSION

At the moment, to move to Maine! (i.e. adventure)

ABOUT ME

I love conversations, community in many forms, the natural environment, growing and stretching my mind and opinions, listening to public radio and reading local publications, and generally being an engaged person!

PHILOSOPHY

I love and try to live the Six Conversations of invitation, possibility, commitment, ownership, dissent, and gifts (via Peter Block). More to come...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted a couple CouchSurfers with a former roommate, have been to CS potlucks in Cincinnati, and am now surfing short-term in Portland, Maine while meeting like-minded folks, working, and finding a place to live and eventually host surfers!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I know some wonderful people who are active on CouchSurfing and everyone I have met that's involved are super friendly, interesting, and interested people.

Interests

Active local communities where neighbors and citizens come together to connect - I live for this! Walkable neighborhoods where a diversity of people interact on the streets. Time in the wilderness, to balance out my love of city life. Good books, especially ones that lead me to look up words in the dictionary. Libraries, to get and share those good books for free. Locally grown and produced food, and the markets and people that allow me access to them. I try to spend my time partaking in all the above on a somewhat regular basis...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Driving north out of Sedona, Arizona, up through the canyons, was the most beautiful (and winding, and twisting!) drive I've been on (yet), and the climb up through micro-climates and their corresponding plant life fascinating. Watching the sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean, from both the Portland Head Light in Cape Elizabeth, Maine and from Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park (the highest peak on the eastern seaboard and the first place the sun rises in the U.S.) were moments I'll never forget. Also, I've experienced a multitude of moments of realization, inspiration, challenge, and intrigue during deep, meaningful conversations with people I either know or don't know very well (yet), and am continuously looking for more.
