About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travelling Central America with my partner and her son

ABOUT ME

I like to make things, learn things, and learn how to make things. I value time and experience over all else. I am energetic, open minded, and can always find something to appreciate.
I am fortunate enough to have a small property which has allowed me the opportunity to build a small cabin and live off grid. Having almost no bills allows me to work as much or as little as I wish. I operate a small community bike shop and I recently have started work on a Gulf island radio station.

PHILOSOPHY

I once read somewhere "You don't need a reason to help people" That quote paved the path to nearly everything I believe in now.

Twice in the last few years have I watched one of my dreams come true right in front of me. I learned that if something is not completely impossible, it is possible and worth trying. Now I am constantly setting new goals and making new projects. I don't believe life is short, I think people forget how to live it.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

For the past few years, traveling took over my life. Summers have included bike trips, hitch hiking adventures, and touring in a band. To repay all the kindness I have received I always keep my door open to strangers and friends.

Twice now have I accepted a couch surfer who was set to stay for a day or two. Days trned into weeks, weeks months, and twice have I ended up living with a couch surfer for over a year. I can only hope it happens again soon!

Interests

Community, Adventure, Music, Sustainability and independence from the system, travel, making stuff, tap dancing, swing dancing, theater, juggling, busking, bicycles, radio, being outside as much as possible.

Music, Movies & Books

I am into all forms of entertainment. There's nothing like a movie or book by the wood stove to get through the long winter nights. Then once summer rolls around it's old-time music jams by the fire pit.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

The more I hitchhike, busk, grow plants, learn to make new things, I start to feel like I am breaking free from the linear path that most lives follow. Having the time to really enjoy life, try new things, and take chances is the most amazing thing I have done.

Teach, Learn, Share

spend less - work less - live more
