About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Adding brightness daily!
ABOUT ME
I'm pretty easy-going and enthusiastic. I've just graduated and the next part of my life seems utterly blank, which is thrilling and terrifying. I value relationships and people above all else, I love to write and to read, to discuss literature. Likes: wine, live music-- just saw Kate Nash in Chicago two nights ago and still jazzed about it!, spicy food, cooking, postcards, parades, chocolate milk, cereal in bed, bare feet, giving gifts, sunshine, people who laugh when things go wrong, playing hostess when I can. Dislikes: uncomfortable socks, pretension.
I just edited a Travel Anthology called "In a Station of the Metro" and landed an internship with a travel magazine. I love traveling, and meeting new people, especially in the context of travel. We can meet each other and we aren't what we've done; we have no past, so we can just meet each other in the moment.
PHILOSOPHY
Add Brightness Daily. I tend to believe that all people ARE people. Something the same is running through all of us, we just need to overcome that fear that hinders our sincerity and openness. If putting negativity into the world dims it, then putting positive energy into the world can brighten it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've stayed with people both in the US and abroad and have always had a wonderful experience. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to host anyone yet myself, but I'm looking forward to having a couch to offer. Been preaching to gospel of the couch to all the travellers I meet. Even my dad is interested now. He's just retired and now he's touring the country on his Harley.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My first time being hosted was wonderful! I was in Cleveland and staying with a girl named Sora Sol, who turned out to be one of the kindest, most open people I've ever met. It was delight to get to know her, and a joy that I wouldn't have known if I hadn't surfed her couch.

Music, Movies, and Books
I just read Ishmael by Daniel Quinn and it was amazing! I also love Linda Gregg's poetry. I like a fairly wide variety of music and am always excited to hear something new.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'm a vegetarian. This past December, I attended a pig killing, butchering, and feast in Hungary. As it turns out, the art of butchering was one of the most interesting, and surprisingly beautiful things I've ever seen. Bodies are made of such clean lines.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know how to quilt, how to do a little yoga, how to cook, how to mix a strong drink, how to write a great letter, how to set up an art gallery, how to love little kids, how to pack a tight suitcase, how to sing. I'd love to learn everything and anything there is to be taught!
Countries I’ve Visited
Bolivia, France, Italy, Spain, Turkey
Countries I’ve Lived In
