The Chordettes, The Temptations, The Beatles and so much more.

Movies - too many to list. Most of my favourites I've probably forgotten.

Books - The Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Catcher in the Rye, all of Ellen Hopkins' stuff and so much more that isn't coming to mind right now.
