About Me
I'm still learning so much about myself!
I am a tree hugger in the most literal sense (check out my pictures and you'll see) and a vegetarian. I try my best to keep my ecological footprint small and spread the word to others about how to do the same.
I've lived in a small city in the Midwestern United States for about 22 years, only visiting new places within the US. Sure the US is a big place, but the world is much larger. So here I am finally across the Pacific in New Zealand.
I love trying new things, meeting people, and just experiencing life in different ways.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To learn about new places from people that actually live there. I want to know about that tiny ice cream shop that makes amazing sundaes or that hidden park with a gorgeous view.
Couchsurfing is more than just couchsurfing, it's an entire community of great people that I want to be apart of.

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to a lot of Indie type music, the definition of Indie varies quite a bit, so Indie Rock or anything chill. Overall, my taste in music spans many genres. I appreciate the many forms that music takes. If you check out my iPod you'll be a bit shocked.
Honestly I don't watch a ton of movies, because sometimes my attention span isn't cooperative. I really have to be in the mood to watch one. I do like documentaries a lot.
Too many books to choose from. Leaving for New Zealand I only allowed myself to bring one and it was one of the hardest decisions. I chose Sherlock Holmes: The Complete Novels and stories, Volume I and I'm still not sure of my choice. I would have also liked to bring The Ultimate Hitchhikers Guide or Lord of the Rings of course.
If this section proves anything it's that I like an array of different things and keep my mind open to anything new. So please share music, movies, and books with me!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Just one? Life is an amazing thing and I'm doing wonderful things everyday!
One of the things I'm most proud of is that I was able to coordinate a very successful blood drive on my small college campus.
One of the things I've enjoyed doing most was swinging on the swings with one of my best friends in autumn, in the rain with the leaves swirling around us in the wind.
