Overview
About Me
Hi there! My name is Megan and I am a recent graduate. Even though my career aspirations are currently polycentric, I still know what I want out of life. I want to see, learn, and hear as much as the world has to offer. And my whole body buzzes with excitement when I think of all those infinite possibilities.
I claim two home states: California and Texas. I am affable, flexible, and open. But more importantly, I cannot wait to get to know more about you!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love the idea of being part of something bigger than myself. I want to expand my immediate network and connect with people that I would not otherwise get the opportunity to know.
And I hope to open my home to the CS community when I finally have a permanent address of my own.
Interests
After watching Steven Johnson's TED Talk, "Where do good ideas come from?" I am on a mission to open myself up to as many different experiences, narratives, and connections as I can. Therefore, I like to travel (like everyone else on hear haha), take in art, ride my bicycle, meander, read, and explore.
My current interests are urban planning, food politics, and alternative art spaces.

Music, Movies, and Books
I know this is cliche, but I really do like most music. I am into the narratives that are portrayed through the lyrics, so I am a very big fan of country and hip hop. CDs that are permanently in my car are Heart, Simon & Garfunkel, The Judds Christmas Album, and Wu-Tang.
My all-time favorite movies is the Godfather. I have literally seen in over ten times. I am also a big fan of anything done by Sofia Coppola, Hitchcock, Fellini, Truffaut, and Wes Anderson. And I enjoy a good documentary from netflix every now and then.
Authors that have indelibly influenced me are Maya Angelou, Hemingway, Orwell, Fitzgerald, and Tolkien. I also have a penchant for biographies. I just recently finished Roald Dahl's autobiography.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once saw the Dalai Lama give a speech while researching Tibetan Refugees in Dharamsala, India.
What I Can Share with Hosts
As the youngest of five, I am little to no maintenance. I can get a long with anyone, definitely do my share, and fully understand that the home you graciously welcomed me into is not my hotel. I also can make mean breakfast tacos and share countless stories were I have embarrassed myself in front of a large group of people.
Countries I’ve Visited
Austria, Canada, China, Denmark, England, Finland, India, Japan, Mexico, Mongolia, Russian Federation, Scotland, Slovakia, Sweden, Thailand
Countries I’ve Lived In
