While hotels are nice, clean, and predictable... they are also quite boring. Impersonal. And, notgonnalie, expensive. Besides, how the heck do I get to know a city/town if I am in a room that looks the same no matter where you go? I love the community that couchsurfing creates, and I think that mindset of hospitality, not seeing strangers as strangers but as people, and of sharing space instead of always having to have our own, is powerful beyond measure.
I am currently not able to host anyone because I live above a DV advocacy (where I currently serve as a AmeriCorps VISTA) but am so excited to host in the future!
