About Me

I am selectively extroverted, although utterly reclusive by choice. I enjoy spending time in good company and absolutely love to spend time on my own. Can be outdoorsy and a couch potato in equal measure. I work in design. Love to travel, eat, experiment and pick brains!

I prefer 🏳️‍🌈 non-judgmental, safe energy, open-mindedness, empathetic folks, good listeners, nature lovers, earth friends, and animal enthusiasts.

🧠 Having discussions with people who can hold ideologies that are antithetical to their own and learning from exchange of unbiased ideas — is deeply stimulating for me.

I am very curious and eager to learn. I may want to know about you, your philosophy, interests, your life story, what drives you in life, and your unique perspective. 😄

Please read MY FULL PROFILE (especially before sending couch requests or texts to hang out)

📌 I do not use Couchsurfing as a dating app or Tinder, and do not engage with men who use it for this purpose (especially stay away from Indian men). If you haven't read my profile, I will know and most likely not respond. I avoid people who are entitled, close-minded, defensive, and disrespectful. In the past such people have proven to be tedious company hence I'm careful who to engage with. My energy is limited and valuable, and I protect it vehemently. Thank you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

CS is not just cultural exchange, it's sharing ideas, thoughts, values, stories, food, perspectives, empathy, humanity and above all, love; love for humankind. ☺️💜🌈

I prefer mindful, slow travel where I can absorb a place, all its beauty and eccentricities (as opposed to fast travel ugh). That includes people. Couchsurfing has been a wonderful way for me to meet such people, places, and beautiful situations that foster long-term connections. The fact that some guests I hosted 6-8 years ago are still in contact with me and I get to know about their life developments—warms my heart. This is why I'm on Couchsurfing. ✨

Oh! I also like meeting my host's animal de compagnie (French for pets). I like all animals, although I'm more biased towards cats 🐈. I love cat psychology and enjoy making friends with them.

Interests

Reading, discovering music, doodling, working out, petting cats and introverted dogs, making slow breakfasts. Plus spending time doing absolutely nothing :)

I have dabbled a bit in photography, specifically street photography due to its dynamic nature. I love Stephen McCurry's work.

I studied Indian classical music when I was younger for ~11 years. While I couldn't continue it (got busy running the rat race 🐀), music is and will always be an integral part of me. I wouldn't be alive today if it weren't for music. In the past I've failed learning the guitar and the ukelele, but one instrument that has always possessed my heart is the grand piano. I wish to learn it someday.

Apart from these, I love to immerse, indulge, and learn about all creative pursuits—writing, storytelling, poetry, spoken word, animation, design, cinematography, cooking, baking, sewing— to name a few.

I love being active and enjoy long walks in nature, yoga, bouldering or anything that gets me moving my body.

I live by a Samuel Beckett quote which goes like this:
"Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better."

I've gone for Muai Thai, Capoeira, Jiu Jitsu classes, dance classes — just for the pure joy of trying and enjoying it (not to perfect it). 😄

Teach, Learn, Share

I am not a great cook, but can manage to toss up pretty decent dishes. Daal, pancakes, a varied series of experimentation... and I can present you an appetizing meal. Or rather show you how to, if you desire.

I prefer healthy, nutrient dense meals. Salads, Mediterranean cuisine etc. But unfortunately I don't know much about them. If you can teach me a new recipe, I'll forever be grateful to you 🥲.

My country is not at all eco-friendly. Show me ways to be more so.🌏

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can help with household chores and errands if any. I quite like cleaning and organizing.
I can teach you and cook some Indian dishes, help with content related work. We could explore the city or activities together if time suits us both.
Besides that, I have stories, my company, and top-notch music. 🎶

If you ever visit India or wherever I'm based, I assure you that you'll have a warm, friendly face (i.e. me) to show you around and help you out.
