Overview
About Me
I'm a textile sculptor (www.madmegh.com) and ikebana, Japanese flower arranging instructor. I'm a decent cook and I'm always on the look out for the next interesting cook book. Wanting to cook Japanese food and make ikebana arrangements lead me to becoming a Master Gardener. Though some days it feels like I kill more plants than I save. I have a husband and young daughter and we live your typical suburban life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Usually I'm dropping artwork off somewhere or going to an artist residency.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Primus, Talking Heads, Kings of Leon, Killers, Modest Mouse, Yeah Yeah Yeahs,
Movies: Art flick type things, Korean soaps, Cooking shows - though I don't really have time to watch anything anymore
Books: I'm usually reading art or plant books with a few history and romance thrown in. Though I'm seriously diggin on Katherine Ardin's Bear and Nightingale series right now.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Been licked on the face by a wolf. Apparently this is a rare and honorable thing for a wolf to do.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know a lot about textile and fiber processes. Quilting, spinning, knitting, sewing, felting, dying.
I know a little bit about how to take care of gardens and house plants. But the most important thing is I can tell you where to look for help!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good conversation and I can cook food.
