CURRENT MISSION

I am originally from Virginia but will be moving over to San Francisco/the bay area at the end of September- I will be working at a hostel in downtown San Francisco. I'm looking to meet people, make friends or if nothing else just get some insight into the area! Since I'll be working at a hostel, I want to learn as much about the area as possible.

ABOUT ME

I'm 26, I work for Hostelling International. I'll be working at their downtown hostel right by Union Square. I grew up in Virginia and spent the past 7 years in the capital city, Richmond. I love Richmond and can tell you all about it but I'm ready to branch out and explore a new place. Here in Richmond I've been working for a dog-walking company for the past year and a half, and I also have been working at a hostel (also with Hostelling International). I looove animals, art, music, exploring new places and learning new things, going out to new restaurants and bars, the list goes on. I'm interested in learning about the area, like I said. I love going to parks with my dog or just by myself. I could keep going but I'll stop here!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have used the website to meet people while traveling. I have also hosted a few couchsurfers in the past but am not able to do so right now :/. I am totally down to chat and/or meet up though if my schedule allows it.

I've met a number of people through couch surfing and have hosted a couple couch surfers and all of my experiences have been pretty positive

Interessi

I have lots of interests. I am interested in learning how to play/make music (totally starting from scratch) and also interested in learning about the local bay area music scene(s). I love to do crafts and take on little creative projects. I often have a lot of creative ideas that I don't actualize. That's something I'm trying to work on. I don't read enough I feel, but I enjoy graphic novels especially. Poetry, as well. Like I said, I don't read enough so I'm always looking for suggestions if you have any good ones! I also feel I don't make myself cook enough these days- or I don't put a whole lot of effort into cooking because I've just been lazy, but I really enjoy cooking with other people and sharing a meal. I loveeee animals and have a dog of my own. I have to admit I watch a lot of netflix. Like I said, the list goes on but I'll stop here.

Musica, film e libri

Music: I'm awful at listing genres, I always just make myself feel silly because I don't know how to describe music or what genre it all fits into, so I'm not even really gonna try. I like electronic music and want to discover more of it. Here are some artists I like, to give you a general idea: hinds, joy division, crystal castles, shannon and the clams, the ramones, dead kennedys, bad brains, sourpatch, jacques dutronc, women, patsy cline, angel olsen, best coast, siouxsie and the banshees, nina simone, billie holiday, otis redding, amen dunes, the smiths, cat power, the gories, the clash- just to give you an idea. I like numerous different styles, and appreciate even more even if I don't listen to them on a regular basis.
