I am an American from Florida who has relocated to England to study at Durham University. I consider myself friendly and outgoing, but also introverted with how I like to spend my time. I love reading, exercising, playing board games, and going on adventures off the beaten track. I'm always interested in learning new things and I have a demonstrated interest in helping the environment and minority groups.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing to become a traveler rather than merely a tourist. I want to see how locals live, understand the culture of each place I travel, and see the unique things each place has to offer.

Interests

In my degree, I focus on Old Norse/Old English language and mythology as well as critical race and postcolonial theory.

In my spare time I like to learn new things about science or history and donate my time and energy to environmental and social justice causes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I've done is while on holiday in Mexico City I went on my first date ever with a local university student. I spent the afternoon and evening exploring the ins and outs of the city. For the first time ever, I travelled on a subway, ate local authentic cuisine, and explored the grounds of a beautiful cathedral. Additionally, I danced in the streets with my date to the music of local musicians, walked through one of Mexico City's parks, and received a balloon my date bought from a local vendor as the conclusion to our date.
