About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To meet cool people and create new friendships.
ABOUT ME
It's really hard to discribe yourself without just using labels... so I'm just going to embrace the labels in my life. Past and present. Biker chic, firefighter, attachment parenting mom, cloth diaper-er, wife to a sweet computer nerd, unitarian universalist, stay at home mom, cat lover, meat eating weight watchers member who wishes she liked veggies more. Since I've dreaded my hair I occasionally get the "dirty hippie" label... which I'm cool with. And finally, roller derby player, which is why I've constantly got bruises ;)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Because we have small children, we don't travel often but we enjoy meeting new people through hosting.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We have hosted twice. Both experiences were really positive. We are considering couchsurfing a little while on our upcoming trip. I think it would be a really positive experience for our girls.

Music, Movies, and Books
Our muscial tastes tend to run the gamut from pop to classical to metal to techno. Adam is a die-hard science fiction fan, while I'm all about period films, reality TV, and romantic comedies. But we're both out of the loop on anything that isn't on Netflix cause we're too thrifty to pay for cable.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Back in 1995, I went with the Chorus of Westerly (which includes my father) on a tour of England, singing in a number of places, including Westminster Abbey. I also went to Sturgis Bike Week, maybe 5 years ago. I remember that trip as a feeling of freedom, riding my motorcycle around the peaks in the Badlands. This year, Adam and I got married in Nova Scotia. The ocean air, the fog, the fog horn from the nearby lighthouse. It was... moving. This past year I was a gestational surrogate for a wonderful family. It was one of those experiences when you realize that helping someone else fufill their dream has a ripple effect. It really does come back around again.
Teach, Learn, Share
Well, I can get going on the subjects of home birth/ natural birth since we had one. I love to talk about roller derby. I can also get going on the subject of my dreadlocks, how I maintain them, what I have learned, ect. As for what we would love to learn about... pretty much anything you want to share with us. We are open.
