Overview
About Me
My name is Pier Paolo, I was born in Florence, I live in Rome, and sometimes I escape to the countryside. I teach literature, write poetry, and make video poetry. I love simple but profound things: the silence of nature, village taverns, conversations that end late at night. I have a direct personality: I can be welcoming and generous, but I can't stand people who see Couchsurfing as a free hostel.
I am curious and idealistic, but also selective. I prefer a few real encounters rather than many superficial acquaintances. If you are only looking for a bed and Wi-Fi, we are not meant to meet. If, on the other hand, you are interested in spending time together, cooking together, taking a walk around the city, or getting your hands dirty in the garden, we will probably get along well.
𝐂𝐔𝐑𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍
I’m on a creative journey, crafting my life through poetry and video-poetry. I would love to connect with fellow creatives or deep thinkers to exchange ideas and perhaps even collaborate. If you have a passion for creativity, perhaps our paths should cross.

Strengths and weaknesses (so we understand each other right away)
– I can be hospitable, but I'm not always “easy”: I hate dishonesty, opportunism, and relational consumerism.
– I don't like getting up late: my days often start early.
– I'm not diplomatic when something doesn't suit me; I prefer to say it clearly.
– With the right people, however, I become very engaging and open.
𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀:
– Writing poetry, especially about marginality and travel.
– Editing conceptual video poems.
– Taking care of my garden, plants, and animals.
– Cooking authentic recipes (Indian, Chinese, Mediterranean) and making preserves.
– Watching Korean, Polish, or French nouvelle vague films.
– Ashtanga yoga (beginner) and some sports when I recover.
– Dancing tango, even though I'm not very good at it.
– Small restoration and craft projects.
If my profile resonates with you, send me the word 'revolution' in your request. That way, I'll know you’re truly in tune with my spirit of questioning and adventure.✨
𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲:
Though I might seem a bit of a hermit, but if you scroll my old shoulder I’m always up for a spontaneous adventure or a cozy/crazy evening.
𝗣𝗛𝗜𝗟𝗢𝗦𝗢𝗣𝗛𝗬
I believe in living fully in the present, guided by love and open-mindedness. My philosophy is simple—reject superficial labels, embrace authenticity, and always seek out beauty in the world around us.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I started years ago, when CS was more of a community and less of a way to sleep for free.
In recent years, I've had some great experiences and some very disappointing ones. I had to tell one guest that they couldn't stay for the agreed amount of time because there was no sharing or CS spirit: that resulted in two negative reviews.
I'll clarify here, because I don't want any ambiguity:
– In one case, the person didn't share anything and used my house only as a hostel. I gave them two days' notice to find another place, and that was enough for a negative review.
– In the other case, a joke about “taking turns cooking” was taken badly. I hosted them anyway and wished them a good trip, but it ended with accusations of stinginess.
These are not pleasant experiences, but they are part of the game. If CS means sharing time then we'll get along.

Here are a few snapshots from when I was 25, reflecting some of the memorable experiences that have shaped me. While I’ve grown and evolved since then, these moments still hold a special place in my heart. I’ve continued to build on these experiences they tell my story - one that values character over appearances. I’m drawn to authenticity and despise anything insincere.
