I've been living in the UK since 2008. Prior to this, I lived for 2 years in Africa (Ghana and Ethiopia), and 4 years in North America. Also in between on and off I spent 2 years doing various things like reading & writing in Wales. Before that I was in Turkey, which is where I grew up.

I'm a Software Engineer, working for a consultancy company in London, in the fields of Business Intelligence & Big Data.

I am especially interested in multiculturalism, journeys, Africa, conflict zones, and creating good memories in faraway places with people I meet. Last place I went to was Lebanon. Next place is Senegal!

The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera and The Outsider by Albert Camus are two books that I carry in my mind.

I mainly like documentaries. One good one I saw recently was The Salt of the Earth. I also like movies by Juliette Binoche and Emir Kusturica.

- Visiting conflict zones like Israel, Palestine, Egypt, Nagorno Karabakh, Balkans
- In summer 2012 I flew to Mongolia and travelled back through Central Asia to Caucasia in 2 months
- Back in 2008 I travelled counter-clockwise around India & Nepal for 3 months
