My name is Mekke. In Denmark, where I am born, that is quite unusual. So unusual, in fact, that only about four other people in Denmark is named "Mekke"... And one of them is a boy!
I feel like dropping the quote "I myself am strange and unusual" here (and I guess I just did), but, that is just because I like quotes because I love words - I haven't acctually seen the movie ;) I don't know that I am that strange and unusual, however, I have it from good autority that I can be rather loony, thank goodness!
I believe a certain amount of sillyness to be absolutely vital! After all, if you don't keep a bit of sillyness in your heart, you're gonna wake up one day and be all grown-up and serious and have forgotten to go on all the best adventures! As written in my favorite book: "“Grown-ups never understand anything by themselves, and it is tiresome for children to be always and forever explaining things to them” .

I am lucky enough to be studying pedagogy (a danish education that doesn't translate too well, sadly), and to be working with kids along the way. Kids are great. They know all the best adventures!
And in my heart, there seems to be an unsatisfiable desire for adventure.

Oh, and eventhough I am allergic to most of them (and most of everything else), I love animals! <3

I just want to explore the world and meet amazing people. I really like people :)

Couchsurfing is a much more heartily way of staying in, and exploring, a new city. It is much more personal, and you might get to know hidden gems and interesting things of the city that you would otherwise have not discovered! You get to have an authentic and hearty stay and hopefully meet new, great people across the world!

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Volunteering. This has given me so much and filled my heart with memories. I recently volunteered at a summer camp for children in difficult situations, and though it was a demanding week, it was nothing short of absolutely amazing and it just made so much sense to work hard for this purpose! I deeply touched me.
I also volunteered at a café for socially deprived people, such as homeless people, people with addictions and so on for a while, many years ago.
I have also volunteered at Harry Potter Festival in Odense (Denmark) and Circus Summarum (working stands and childrens club, not in the acctual performance) because it is FUN! And because kids are great!
