About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to experience the world and all the amazing things it holds, before I become too old and cynical.

ABOUT ME

I graduated from UC Berkeley in 2008. I traveled the United States in my car, because it seemed like a better plan than figuring out where to live right away. After that I attended my first Burning Man and randomly settled in Portland right after, where I currently still live. I love seeing new places and meeting new people. Music and concerts are a big part of my life, especially when it comes to the Smashing Pumpkins. I traveled to Europe to see their big reunion concert in 2007. Right now life is a bit less eventful. I work full-time at Walgreens as an assistant manager.

Interests

Music, traveling, juggling, slacklining, long walks, people-watching, eating, staring at walls, any playgrounds that have good swings, taking mental note of beautiful moments that seem to pop out of nowhere.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music that does something new artistically and has the power to stir up thoughts and emotions no matter how many times I listen to it. Since this is a very subjective answer, some of my absolute favorite bands (skipping a ton that I listen to often) are The Smashing Pumpkins, Mute Math, Mew, Blur, Muse, Morrissey, New Order, Silversun Pickups, Explosions in the Sky and Sigur Ros.

Similar rules apply to books and movies though I don't involve myself in these nearly as much as music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I drove across the country starting in Caifornia, and after some detours, ended up in New England. I then turned around and came back, stopping in the midwest for roller coasters at Cedar Point and two Smashing Pumpkins shows. Aside from those three specific events and visits with people along the way, I was by myself the whole time (8000 miles total). It was all I could think to do after college, and I had no idea where I would end up living. The grand finale of this journey was appropriately Burning Man, one of the greatest weeks of my life.

As an ironic side note, soon after this long trip my old car was totaled in an accident in my new home town of Portland. I used public transit for over 2 years until I finally purchased another car.

Teach, Learn, Share

Juggling and slacklining are things I do and love to teach people. If anyone is better than me at juggling and wants to teach me new tricks it would be amazingly fun and much appreciated. Also, any other random circus type things such as unicycling would be fun to learn.
