ABOUT ME

My parents are from India and moved to Chicago, IL, USA in 1975. I was born in Chicago and grew up in the surrounding area. I went to a university about an hour away from Chicago. I work for a public accounting firm in Chicago. I have two older sisters who also live in Chicago. I have decided to take a three month break from work and go to Brazil to do volunteer work. I am working with an organization called Two Brothers in Rocinha, Rio De Janeiro. Two Brothers teaches English to all residents of Rocinha and does a lot of work with the children of the community. I am very excited to see the beautiful country of Brazil and meet YOU.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This is my first time using the website CouchSurfing, but I have "couchsurfed" in the past. When I was in Thailand I stayed with a grandmother, grandfather, and their three grandchildren in the western mountains of Thailand for a few days.

Interests

I enjoy camping and hiking with friends. I love exploring and seeing new things, hence why I enjoy traveling so much. I like watching a movie or going out to a bar. I also enjoy reading and spending time with family/friends. Hanging out on the beach, outdoor sports, martial arts....anything the world has to offer.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite books are: The 48 Laws of Power, Five People You Meet in Heaven, Siddhartha, The Tao of Pooh, The Namesake.

My favorite movies are: Crash, Braveheart, Blow, and American Beauty.

I listen to all kinds of music. It really depends on what mood I'm in. I like Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West, Jack Johnson, Matt Costa, Johnny Cash, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Linkin Park, Guster, Coldplay, and plenty more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been skydiving, which I highy recommend. Nothing I have experienced can replicate the feeling I felt when I jumped out of a plane. It was amazing. I also went scuba diving in the great barrier reef. It's a whole new world down there and it was beautiful. To be that close to wild,exotic fish and corral was breathtaking.
