I am a 28 year old Native New Yorker currently living in the Bronx. I have also lived in Washington DC, and in Maryland while in college. I studied abroad in Paris during my junior year of college. My career background is in the nonprofit field, working in direct services. Most recently, I have been a college advisor working at a community organization in Harlem. I am passionate about travel, and feel that I have not made it a priority, so I will be leaving my job in July and will be backpacking in Southeast Asia for 2-3 months. As a person I believe in building strong, meaningful relationships with others, being open and nonjudgmental, and doing everything I can to have a positive impact on the world. In my free time I like exploring new neighborhoods, food, art, spending time with friends, and escaping the city to enjoy nature.

I am on Couchsurfing because I would like to have more authentic experiences on my future travels. I might be interested in staying with people, but more than anything I would like to meet local people and get a deeper, more meaningful understanding of the places that I will be going, whether that is through shared meals, discovering new neighborhoods, or going on a shared adventure.
