CURRENT MISSION

Even though we enjoy a happy retirement in Chiang Mai, Thailand, we love to travel to other parts of the world to experience different cultures, make new friends, and eat great food.

ABOUT ME

We, Alan and Melanie, a married couple originally from New York, have each worked in a number of fields including: education, business, communications and media. As a couple, and as individuals (Alan is 75, Melanie is 70), we possess a strong work ethic and an adventurous spirit of self-discovery and are very young at heart. We get along well with all ages. This journey of learning inspires us to continue to broaden and brighten our horizons wherever we go. We were both raised in Jewish middle class families in New York, but we have both chosen to explore many different spiritual paths as seekers of truth, love and light, including Yoga, Hinduism and Buddhism, meditation, channeling and mediumship, metaphysics, alternative medicine (including TCM), and living in conscious balance of body, mind and spirit.

PHILOSOPHY

We believe in taking total responsibility for our life choices and being very clear what we choose to manifest into reality, including friends, relationships, and life experiences. We believe in positive energy, karma, reincarnation, the laws of attraction, creative visualization, manifestation, spiritual guidance, having a spiritual outlook on life, and living in harmony with all life forms on Earth and beyond.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We would like to meet new like-minded friends while traveling who could advise us about reasonably priced accommodations and good places to eat. We love scenery and nature, architecture, local culture and various cuisines (local and international). Of course, for visitors to Chiang Mai, we can make recommendations too.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have had wonderful experiences with other couchsurfers while visiting , Taiwan, Malaysia, New Zealand's South Island, Indonesia, India, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia.

Intereses

We both share a passion for movies. (Melanie worked for Captain Kangaroo and spent many years in television production sometimes with Alan's help on shoots for T.V. commercials). Another passion of ours is Asian food, especially Chinese and Indian, with tasty herbs but not spicy hot and definitely no chili pepper. Melanie bakes (specialty is muffins) and Alan loves to cook (many varieties of food) and we both love dark chocolate.

Música, películas y libros

We enjoy all types of movies, except slasher/horror and silly, over-the-top humor. Alan is a huge Classic Rock fan and Melanie loves all types of music especially the heavenly voices of Andre Bocelli, Josh Groban, and Celine Dion.

It's been quite a ride this lifetime. Stay tuned; it's not over yet and it's all amazing. What a trip!

We have many life experiences including studying various alternative paths in healing and seeking which we love to share, but we are also very open to listening, sharing and learning from others in a non-judgmental, reciprocal way. We enjoy sharing stories of our journey through the School of Life and Enlightenment.
