I grew up in northern New York, ten minutes from the Canadian border, in an earth-sheltered house. The Army brought me to Hawaii, where I lived for nearly ten years. I've worked as a French horn player, a college advisor, and an IT guy. I've lived full-time on a 30' sailboat and in a 19' trailer. I love the internet and Google and Android.

We need so much less than we think we need. Sometimes the pursuit of material possessions not only fails to bring about the happiness we seek, but leaves us with excess stuff to worry about maintaining. It's too easy to fall into the trap of working to acquire things rather than relationships.
