About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To visit every francophone and hispanophone country in the world!
ABOUT ME
I am a language graduate keen to maintain my level of French and Spanish by going to both countries at least once a year. As a linguist I am also very interested in discovering new countries and meeting new people and CS seems the best way to do it, although I haven't been too adventurous with it yet...
I like to think that I'm open-minded, pretty tolerant, VERY perceptive and a great listener (I have a knack for spotting accents). If the mood is right then I'll party like it's 1989 but I only go hard when the mix of people/music/venue is right - if you're lucky I'll bust a move or two.
I can be both spontaneous and a rigid planner in equal measures. I hitchhiked from Caen (France) to Morocco in 2010 to raise money for charity and made it in 4.5 days! This is the time in my life when anything is possible, so I'm looking for new experiences, travel buddies and some great photo opportunities.
PHILOSOPHY
Do what you want to do
Be who you want to be
Take everything in and set your mind free
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
With the intention to do a lot of couch surfing and then not actually doing that much but living with the hope that one day I will.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
A few official and unofficial surfs.
First experience through the website was a guy called Jordi in Mallorca. It was a great success and we were lucky to find a host who was willing to show us the best places to visit and spend time with us. I hope my next experiences will be just as good.
Then came a very last minute trip to Dublin with some emergency hosts coming through for us.
Interests
Travel! Seeing and visiting new places, exploring, getting to know new people, new cultures, new foods, new traditions, new languages, new ways of living, new ideas.
Going to music concerts and festivals, eating good food and going where the travelling takes me.
Learning new languages - next challenge...Italian.
I would also like to become a better photographer.

Music, Movies, and Books
Loads, my preferences change a lot but here are the constants:
Music - Seth Lakeman, John Mayer, Taylor Swift, Jason Mraz, Manu Chao, Calogero. I'm open to most world music, folk music, good beats for dancing to, a bit of Latin to shake to, well-written lyrics and nice melodies.
Authors - Nick Hornby, J K Rowling, Malorie Blackman, Jane Austen, Albert Espinosa, Louis de Bernieres, I'm always looking for new recommendations. However, I've studied Unamuno and he is REALLY not my thing, I think he needed to learn to live in the moment and stop meditating on death.
Films - Populaire, Les Choristes, Before Sunset + Before Sunrise but not Before Midnight, Harry Potter (classics), Casino Royale, 10 Things I Hate About You, Withnail and I, the Monty Pythons. I'm a fan of comedy, rom com and some action films but I'm not into Sci-Fi/ war epics, horrors or mind-game films.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hitchhiked to Morrocco, saw the Cascades d'Ouzoud and slept in a Berber tent.
Paraglided in the Alps.
