About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Sustainability and laughter! OK, bad jokes DO count.

ABOUT ME

I have two Papillons, my "boys", who dominate my home life with their energy and yapping. Home would NOT be the same without them. I like to read novels, knit (slowly), meditate, motorcycle (Rebel), watch movies, and run. Can't help it: I love the Triangle pose in yoga and reeeally don't like the Warrior poses. Always working on being less competitive in yoga. Supporting the arts is important to me: dance, theatre, International Film Festival, art shows, flower shows, opera, MayDay Parade, Art Car Parade, etc. and I hope to return to studying dance one day. My canvas for creative outlet right now is my house--sometimes overwhelming. My yard is my garden--a kind of urban park. I'm trying to make it wildlife friendly and learning as I go.

PHILOSOPHY

Can't we all just get along?? :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Monthly Minneapolis meeting and developing new friendships.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Not a true CS experience, but I did go to D.C. in the mid-90's for a demonstration. I was supposed to stay with someone I knew--only to find out he forgot and had gone to visit someone else! I found a 24-hour political bookstore, talked to the security guard about my predicament, and he let me sleep in a big green chair. Not comfy sleep, but glad to have some place to stay. Always remember that guard--he brought me a fresh cup of hot coffee and a smile in the morning to let me know there was shift change. Here's to you, security guard in D.C., and may it come around to you.

Interests

Sustainability.
Finding volunteer opportunities to become more active in making my ideals manifest. I'm volunteering treatments to AIDS patients through the Aliveness Project (www.aliveness.org) and learning to collect seeds and remove invasives for prairie restoration with Friends of the Mississippi River (www.fmr.org). Want to do more walking.....and keep talking.....
