About Me

Alohaa! My name is Melinda and I was originally born and raised on the island of Oahu, Hawaii but I currently live in San Diego, CA.

In general, I love open conversation, food, readjng, meditation, art, and adventuring with those who are easy going and up for anything!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing has gifted me with a more intimate, organic form of travel. From this experience, I have met amazing people, appreciated the diversity of cultures, and made unforgettable memories I will cherish forever.

I have been hosted three times and hope to return the favor in the future!

Interests

I'm passionate about gender, sexuality, indigenous rights, animal rights, etc. I genuinely love learning and engaging in projects that advocate the rights for various movements and groups. I'm not aware of everything that's happening in the world, but I'm always willing to listen and learn.

Annnd on a lighter note, I'm a happy vegetarian, who has a list of paranormal experiences, love musicals, and thrives in cities or nature, as long as either are in sight of the ocean.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Flew home from college on a Friday,
randomly decided to run a marathon that following Sunday.

Best/worst decision of my life hahaha.

Also participated in a 7 day silent meditation retreat in Koh Phangan, Thailand. Challenging, but wonderful.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Lots of aloha, stories, adventures, and an open ear!

Hawaii has greatly shaped my core values and desire to form relationships with people from all walks of life. I truly believe we are all deserving of following our authentic truth so that we can authentically give to others and build meaningful connections. Even if we form a bond for 24 hours or a few days, these relationships leave a lasting imprint in my life.
