Hey! I'm Meline and I'm really into Disney. I attend university in New York city where I major in Film & TV and minor in Child & Adolescent Mental Health Studies. I love to talk about movies/tween culture, explore the impact of media on adolescents and hope to work for Disney Channel or another adolescent aimed TV station someday.
I grew up in SoCal but have lived on the East Coast a long time and have spent considerable time in the deep south. I'm studying in Paris right now and have really enjoyed being able to experience French culture.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I'm studying away for this semester and choose to do so in Paris (rather than London or Sydney) as an attempt to break out of my comfort zone (needed to learn a new language! Eeek!) and experience a different culture. Couchsurfing (ooh, how adventurous, my mom does not fully approve) gives me yet another chance to do that, and break my shell. I would to 'surf' somewhere were I can have some interaction time with my host and get to know their opinion on their city/country and learn about the places they've visit (a lot of people on this site are would travellers! Idk how much I'll be able to travel later in life so I'd like to absorb all I can in my travel experiences and learn from other travellers too).

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

While visiting New Orleans last spring, some friends and I passed by a wedding reception and while admiring it one of the partygoers invited us in. We were casually dressed and felt terribly out of place in the formal setting, but no one at the party seemed to care. They were incredibly welcoming to us strangers, invited us out on the dance floor and ensured we got some wedding cake to take home.
It holds place as one of the most amazing experiences or my life, not only cause it checks "crashed a wedding" off my bucket list, but because we were so welcomed into this private event and got to meet some wonderful people in the process.
