About Me

Hi there, this is Melisa born in Turkey, based in everywhere.

I find myself as a direct and simple person; it is very easy for me to be happy about things, even the smallest ones. I adapt to places and conditions very quickly. You may hear that I use sarcasm a lot, I like to play with the words time to time. That's another reason for me to write poems or writing trials in a dusty book, maybe to be publish or not.

I love travelling and when I am travelling solo, I absorb all the city/place in a quick tempo. The more you see the more you learn :) I also appreciate my friends joining me in a trip, we end up organizing great itineraries. Spending a day in the mountains or in the seaside is my favorite activity for all seasons. Basically loving life here.

I cannot express how much I love cycling; I am not the best cyclist but that wind flow around you, the slight pace you have, it is amazing for me. Same goes for swimming, you cannot take me out of the sea during summertime. Getting all the wrinkles in the hands and else? Yes please!

Currently I am only available for being a guest in your places AND; currently not in Italy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I enjoy seeing the places in the local people's eyes, honestly. That is why I also like to see photography galleries, you can see their view in life and nature very explicitly.
The rare gems are only to be found out like this, some friendships and some places you care about. And later, if I am able to, host people from world to my place (very excited to know which place I will call home in the end).

I am also on another platform which is specified for pet sitting, THS, and I really enjoyed my time in my hosts place with their cutie cats and dogs. Some peeps also have like horses, reptiles and all the rest; I really wanna do another sit like that. Being out of your comfort zone is also another type of comfort sometimes.

Music, Movies, and Books

It is a truly mess, my favorites in music. Anyone can find Rammstein, RHCP and Michael Kiwanuka on my Spotify liked list. Currently enjoying Italian Indie music somehow, and indie pop general.
I mostly enjoy psychological thrillers on movies and also science-fiction and fantasy ones. The identity is my usual suggestion to peeps who enjoy also psychological movies. Also... I am a huge Whovian for a long time, bingewatching the modern series always, love 3x10th episode because Weeping Angels rule the whole villain side of Doctor Who. And yes, I am a fan of David, Matt and Billie of course.
I have been to some anime festivals over Turkey and Italy, sometimes cosplaying and sometimes enjoying the geeky atmosphere. I lost the count of how much anime series I've watched until now. My favorite is Monster without a hesitation, then Ergo Proxy, Durarara, Steins Gate, Gintama...
It has been a long time I haven't read a book, but of course LOTR trilogy is my favorite of all. And that Silmarillion is waiting to be finished in the late eternity...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Surviving several one day long trips or staying out the night in Paris in winter just to be able to catch my 3 am flight? Aah, just so normal, not even amazing tho.

I petsitted 6 furry friends at a time, a bit of a hard work it was :) Love to be around of especially cats, and dogs.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach how to sew and crochet, or even the dry sculpturing with clay. Amazingly therapeutical to do.
Practising Italian maybe? There are lots of things to learn, how can we even specify it?

What I Can Share with Hosts

The amazing Turkish cuisine and to tell the true concepts in my culture, definitely a must to learn; the conversations clear out or reshape the ideas of the Turkish people. Also unexpected small info about other cultures as well. Just sit back, relax and broaden (y)our minds :)
