About Me

"I have no special talent, I am only passionately curious"
Hello there! My name is Melissa. My mind remembers better in pixels. I love thought provoking conversations, meeting new people, and drinking dark coffee.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm a strong believer that the world is much too large to stay in one place, so get out and explore. With that being said, I don't think too much of your traveling budget should be spent on a hotel that you're not even gonna be spending much time in anyway, so why bother spending money on an empty hotel room? All I really need is a pillow, blanket, and a shower.

Interests

I am a huge lover of mother nature. I love to go hiking, reading, shooting, taking pictures, watching documentaries, and spending time with my mum.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all sorts of music. Anywhere from country to reggae. R&B was and will always be my first love though. As far as movies, there's way too many to name! My top three would probably be Armageddon, Good Will Hunting, and Lilo & Stitch

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 18 I was part of a charity group and we fundraised $50,000 for a non-profit organization called Children's Hunger Fund. We chose CHF because they donate .99c of every dollar to children in third world countries.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am open to new experiences and I am willing to learn everything and anything someone has to teach me. I believe that every person you meet has something to teach you and vice versa. I think that no matter how old you are you are always a student and there's always something to learn. PS I'm vegetarian.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I believe I can share a different perspective. I come from two very, very different ethnic backgrounds (Vietnamese & Mexican), so at a very young age I learned that there are two sides to every story and you can't judge a person because not everyone was raised the same way you were.
