Hi! I'm Melissa, and I recently moved to SoCal, but before that, I was living in Istanbul, Turkey. I was born in the US but have lived for most of my life in Turkey.

I'm an animal lover, and I have one cat called Sufjan (named after Sufjan Stevens). I enjoy spending time with my friends and listening to indie music.

Education wise BSc in International Relations and MSc in Environmental Politics but when I couldn't figure out what to do with my life I just quit the system! My friend and I traveled around Europe hitchhiking, volunteering and not using money at all! It was an amazing experience, and it changed me forever!

Now I'm back in the US and back to square one, figuring out life!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I first discovered couch surfing when I and my friend Greta were traveling through Europe looking to learn more about alternative and sustainable lifestyles. When we were not in eco-villages in the mountains we were passing through cities and we wanted to meet new people! We met incredible people on the way and made some awesome friends!
