About Me

I am a freelance translator, residential designer, and mother to a kid who really loves dinosaurs (sometimes he travels with me, sometimes not, I always make sure my hosts know exactly who is coming). We split our time between the East and West coasts of the U.S. and have been all over the world together, we adore meeting people and sharing our home with travelers.
As guests, we don't require much, we are used to making ourselves comfortable in all kinds of places. We recently spent a night, along with a group of strangers (and many wild creatures), huddled in a parks service bathroom on an isolated island sheltering from a flash flood and lighting storm. By morning, we had some new friends and a thrilling story to share back at kindergarten.
We promise, as hosts, to try to make your stay infinitely more comfortable, but hopefully just as fun and memorable!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here because I have a great house, in a great city, and I want to share it!

Interests

I love design, architecture, craft... people who make things, people who fix things. I really enjoy chatting up strangers, I try and take a few solo trips a year because I think people are more inclined to talk to you when you're alone (and you get through museums much more efficiently that way, just sayin'.) I'm a big fan of any sort of fireside event, drinking, roasting things, camping of course. I collect National Parks, I've already taken my son to 28 of them, and he's 5, so we're off to a good start with that one.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I left a stable, prestigious career (with a pension and everything) to make my living from the sharing economy and travel. best. decision. ever.
