Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have stayed with people in both Italy and in Austria, and thoroughly enjoyed my experience. The people we stayed with were friendly and showed us around the city, focusing on the local food and drink specialties and outdoor activities. In addition, I was able to stay with varying people in Grand Junction, CO while looking for a home in transition for moving. They were very helpful in knowing which areas were near the outdoors, and/or safer than others as I did not know the area.

Interests

We really enjoy rock climbing and hiking in the mountains and camping with our dogs. My husband loves to go snowboarding. I also love history and art; towns which express the past and ways in which people lived, another time and place, and the beauty of both historic and modern architecture. As a licensed German teacher, I love to learn about other cultures. I would also like to practice speaking German. I have spoke German for years, but have not had the opportunity to practice over the last few years and I am currently teaching my husband German.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The beautiful mountain views and nature are high on both of our lists. I would say one of my favorite memories is driving over a pass between Italy and Austria with some friends. My husband claims beauty from the views of the top of the mountains while snowboarding.
