My name is Melissa, I'm 20 and I'm from Germany. While my mom is German my dad is from Iran and I'm currently trying to learn farsi. Ilived in the States for a year working as an au pair living with a great family and taking care of their children. Now I've been living in Berlin for half a year studying medicine to become a doctor.

It was my wish to be an au pair in the US for a year because I wanted to get to know the American culture, travel around the country, try and see new things and meet new people. That is why for me couchsurfing sounds great because that way I do not just get to see new places when travelling but can also get to know new people, share my German and Persian culture with anyone who is interested and profit from local people's advice on where to go and what to see.
