ABOUT ME

Living in Chicago now, this whole CS experience began before I even left home....I was studying Spanish and thought I was going to Mexico, but the universe had different plans and I couldn't be happier. I lived in China for a year and a half while teaching English... six months in Shanghai, a short, life-altering, two weeks in Pingdingshan, then to Xi'an where I met people that have forever changed me for the better, and finally to Guiyang for the last year where I found amazing friends and great joy in volunteer projects feeding the homeless and spending time with special needs orphans. I grew so much in China, and I am forever grateful. In the best way possible, I think 1 month in China is equal to about 7 months anywhere else. Kind of like dog years.

I will answer to Smother Theresa, Big Mama Hurt, or Pook...I like to get dirty and "rough it" as much as I like to get a cheap foot massage and have my nails painted blue on a lazy afternoon. I LOVE some good rock 'n' roll, soul, reggae, and jazz. Let's dance. I am ready for anything, I am hungry for travel, and I have an addictive personality...once I start something it's hard for me to stop and I don't think i'll stop traveling anytime soon.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I participate however I can...with two roommates now, it is not always easy to coordinate schedules and host, but I do my best to lend a helping hand if I can't offer up a couch.

Backpax in Xi'an was my first CS experience, and it changed my life. I'm not kidding.
