ABOUT ME

I'm a person that always love to travel. I'm very blessed that with my age (1993) I already saw so many countries (Trans-Mongolia express, BC Canada/Seattle, Utah US, West/South/Central/Northern Europe, Indonesia). Besides, lived for short period in Finland (Oulu) and Philippines (Busuanga Island). Love to add more countries to my list and meet local culture. Specially interested in local foods and stunning nature areas.

A bit about my background. I'm from a village in the Netherlands named Kortenhoef, but I studied/lived for 5,5 years the town Wageningen (WUR). In Wageningen I learned to appreciate my environment and I loved the mix of cultures at the uni. I finished my Master Forest- and Nature Conservation in March 2018. So, I just moved to the city Groningen for my new job. Besides, some of my hobbies are fitness, cooking, holahooping, scuba diving etc. Like to be active and enjoy my surrounding!

Music, Movies, and Books

During my study I did not have a lot of time to read besides study book. Now, I like to read (historical) novels from Khaled Hosseini, Elena Ferrante, Arthur Japin, Tessa de Loo, etc. For movies I'm always in for a comedy or drama, still I also appreciate romcoms, arthouse, action and an occasional thriller.

Teach, Learn, Share

Like to experience nature when I'm traveling to a certain place. Also I love to see wildlife. However, for me it is important that there is no animal cruelty, no captured animals for my pleasure, not overcrowded tourism (exploiting nature and disrespecting the environment) and fair shares for local people.
