ABOUT ME

I asked friends to describe me. This is what they came up with...

.animal loving organic tree hugger; outgoing; free spirit; butterfly; sensational; caring; kindred; adventurous; persuasive; sweet; vibrant; exhilarating; deep rooted child of the earth; dear friend; gentle; kind; giving; empathic; wildflower; energetic; fun; and lively.

That's me in a nutshell. Having spent 41 years in IL, I moved to the Big Island in 2012 to "start over" . I spent 14 months working at a horticultural therapy program for young adults and then began managing vacation rentals while working at a BnB. When I decided to move back to the mainland, Eugene was that natural choice, as I'd been visiting there for 20 years and it felt like home. I live in the Whiteaker neighborhood as I am growing my petsitting business and working toward my dream of opening a farm animal sanctuary just outside of town. In the meantime, I am running an Airbnb room out of our house but we are open to accepting guests if timing is right...

I have yet to couch surf. Traveling has been to a minimum and usually we are camping when we go away...hoping to try it out some day...

兴趣

I love to be outdoors. My main loves are gardening (i love flowers!!)kayaking, hiking and camping but i've dabbled in backpacking, climbing and biking. I mostly do hiking here in OR but will be purchasing a kayak this season.

I love to give back and have volunteered for animal shelters, humane education groups and world hunger projects. I'm currently on a board for Lighthouse Farm Sanctuary and volunteer there weekly.

I love road trips. I've traveled to the west coast on my own. The whole experience was amazing..
On a recent trip to utah, we found a random state park when the national parks were filled up. it was so beautiful that we slept right on the beach in front of a lake. i woke at about 2am to the most incredible dome of stars i've ever seen. i stayed awake for hours just staring into the vast, endless space..
Alaska touched me like almost no other place has...paddling the inside passage and camping in the middle of nowhere was an experience i will never forget..
