Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

In 10 months time I am going to travel the world from East to West. The trip starts at the 18th of March 2012 with a flight from Amsterdam to Hong Kong, followed by South China, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore. Than I will travel the known backpackroute from Cairns to Sydney, followed by New Sealand and Fiji. The end of my journey will take place in the US and in Middle and South America. During my travel I am looking forward to meet interesting locals for a drink and/or a couch.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I did couchsurfing twice. Two wonderful experiences in Singapore and Brisbane. Good fun! When I am back in the Netherlands and have my own place again, gonna host for sure.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a wide interest in movies and music. I like all kind of movies with a good story line and dito camera work (e.g. The Godfather, Forrest Gump, Star Wars, Shutter Island, Hotel Rwanda). I prefer music such as reggae, hip hop and trance. But I also enjoy listening to The Beatles, Johnny Cash, Elvis and Dutch artists. I enjoy hardrock and metal less, but I love Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Nirvana though. I have a small collection of football literature including lots of auto biographies of players/managers but also from complete different people such as Nelson Mandela.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Saw the Big 5 of wild animals in South Africa. During a sea safari watched humpback whales mating in Mozambique. Amazing experiences!
