About Me

ABOUT ME

My favorite city is Seattle, though I live in the Bay Area. I love to travel to new cities, hand draw a street map, and then set out to explore. Usually I get lost but I suppose that's part of the fun. I love trying new restaurants, cafes, and meeting people in random places.

PHILOSOPHY

All I need for happiness is good food, music and walking shoes

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've couchsurfed around the US in a number of places with a ton of awesome hosts. At long last, I finally have my own place and can host so I'm excited to be on the flip side of CS.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was thrown into the world of couchsurfing when I went on a month-long roadtrip with a few friends around the US in June 2010. Out of the entire month, we only paid for housing twice - otherwise, we lived off the generosity of friends, family, or couchsurfing hosts. I was intimidated and amazed by the lives that our hosts lead. Their lives are so incredibly inspiring, and I'm hoping to meet even more people when I travel again.

Since then I've CSed with people for various vacations - always a great way to see a city through a local's eyes!

Interests

When I travel, I enjoy walking around residential areas and eating at local restaurants. At home, I love hanging out with friends, running, swimming, rock climbing, eating massive amounts of fruit, and searching for music.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Ranges from Bon Iver to Taylor Swift to Alesso

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Tubing down the Guadalupe River with friends and a cooler of beer was pretty awesome. A friend of a CS host in Omaha sang and played guitar and I was blown away. I was in a descending plane on July 4th and saw hundreds of little fireworks going off simultaneously.
