Overview
About Me
We are Jonny and Meltem – two people who have merged into one as a couple, sharing a deep love for traveling and connecting with locals wherever we go.
Jonny is a craftsman, metalworker, and musician. He’s incredibly skilled with his hands, and I’m lucky to learn a lot from him. His studio is his kingdom – once he’s there, time just flies. He also works at events, building stages, stands, and whatever else needs to be done.
I’m Meltem. I studied Early Childhood Education and Trauma Pedagogy. I’ve worked in residential groups with teenagers who had a tough start in life and needed support. Abroad, I’ve also worked with children – and sometimes even with animals.
We’ve been spending our winters in Asia for the past three years – mostly in India, sometimes in Thailand or Nepal.
Nature is our home. We live in the countryside with a few chickens, cats, a dog, some rabbits, and a turtle. We share a big house with Jonny’s siblings and live together as a small community.
Let’s see what else life has in store for us and what adventures await. 🌿
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
For us, traveling becomes truly meaningful when we can build a connection to the culture, the environment, and gain at least a small understanding of the local social structures. That’s why we finally decided to join Couchsurfing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
We hiked from Germany to Italy across the Alps, and even though we’re not really hikers, we also spent two weeks trekking in the Himalayas.
Teach, Learn, Share
We love cooking and expanding our kitchen skills – but that’s no promise that we’re great chefs! 😄
We’re also really interested in language.
Jonny can share his nerdy knowledge about synthesizers and is always up for a chat about music :)
I can offer simple yoga sessions and I’m always open to cultural conversations.
