Interests

For the better part of 25 years I made my life as a professional entertainer and jazz vocalist. Concurrent with all that I kept my finger in the Hospitality pie, working primarily to insure that I had health benefits.
Singing or slinging hash so to speak. Second City Improv trained. Politically astute, intermittantly active.
Morphed into a marketing career for the last 12 years.

Music, Movies, and Books

Prefer films over movies. My definition of a film is that it includes plots and themes and character exposition. A movie has car chases and explosions.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Disagreed with my professors over a grade in freshman year of college. Course was illogical fallicies. Test materials included an essay by William Golding (Lord of the Flies) that was riddled with illogical fallacies about women in the first two paragraphs. I wrote my essay about that and ignoring two out of three of the questions. Three profs graded. Got an A, a C and and F for the test. I challenged the grade. Wrote to and received a letter back from William Golding in his own handwriting. The grade was never changed but no matter. I learned wondrous things as I executed the exercise. After 25 years of studying, practicing, and perfecting my craft, I took a new show into concert. I had eight songs on the set that I had never performed publicly and one hour rehearsal with the musicians. We recorded live audio and video of the show. Some of it was awesomely rocky. Much of it was of good quality. Overall it was a laudable effort. When my children were born it was a phenomenon that defied comprehension. When my sister died, my first real experience with death, it struck me as a phenomenon. It was beyond comprehension. When love elects to visit us with the intoxicating grace that lifts us up it is a phenonenon beyond comprehension.

Teach, Learn, Share

Can share expertise on social media marketing, writing, advertising, and growing small businesses. Also improv comedy, sound mixing, and live performances. Perfectly happy coach a person on making a presentation, giving a speech, or a performance. Have coached talent all my life.
