I've lived in Anchorage, Alaska most of my life but love to travel. I am currently living in Atlanta, Georgia. I have family scattered all around the world, and taking courses in international studies and languages at UAA instilled a passion for learning about new cultures. I particularly love trying (and cooking) traditional foods and meeting new people. On a warm day you'll find me out and about hiking, running, or just basking in the sunshine, but I won't say no to a good book or movie on a rainy day.

I love cooking and eating; when I was a kid I wanted to be a professional chef! I didn't end up going that route, but I still love cooking and baking, and feeding my friends and family.

I had the opportunity to travel to Peru in 2013, where I lived with a family in a small village in the Andes working on their farm. It was a radically different experience from my life growing up and I learned a lot from being put so far outside my comfort zone.
