Noted: Taroko National Park has been closed after the severe earthquake in April2024. Some of the trails and spots will reopen later this year(?). But the most typical places of Taroko will need many years to rebuild.

I am Sherman, officially named Meng-Yu, Hsieh(謝孟育 in Mandarin), growing up in the old capital city of Taiwan: Tainan, and had spent 6 years studying in the capital "Taipei". And then, two years served as Military Dentist in Tauyuan. Now moved to Hualien.

I finally start to host Couchsurfers after I visited many hosts' places :P
My backpacker soul was evoked at the age of 20. And since then, I had caught all the chances to go travel. So far, I had already visit many countries in Asia, the Balkans in Europe, Central Asia, Mexico and Cuba.

Out-door activities are my favorite!!! I am a Marathon runner, baseball lover, and hiking enthusiast. My goals is to step at the top of "Taiwan 100 Mountains" :)

My friends introduced me to join this wonderful world that I can meet many interesting people in my journey.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCES

My first couchsurfing is in Singapore in 2014. The host Luke took me around the city and introduced the interesting places to me, which gave me a good start in couchsurfing.

And I couchsurf again in 2015. In Bulgaria, I met Bojil who took me to his secret hiking trail in the mountain and showed me the beauty of Sofia.

I go traveling, especially being a backpacker, to experience different cultures and adventure the diversities of the world.

I love outdoor activities such as jogging, mountain climbing, softball playing and cycling.

I also enjoy reading and playing some musical instruments for fun in my free time.
