Music, Movies, and Books

For music I like a fair range including Eurythmics, Tears for Fears, Supertramp, Aphex Twin, The Orb, Orbital, Bonobo, Plastikman, Squarepusher and Cymande.

As far as books go I've been interested in science or cyber fiction (Neil Stephenson, Greg Bear, the Enders Game series, Phillip K Dick's short stories are really awesome) though I'm all about the story being told and that goes beyond just scifi. This would include stories like Beloved and Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test.

I don't watch many movies and TV, but I enjoy ambiguity (like LOST) and character development. Generally if I watch any video these days I actually play it at twice its normal speed on my computer. It's amazing how quickly your brain can work when you force it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Apparently I was the first person to do an independent concert on the Internet. I also helped start a company that was the first to broadcast cable television on the Internet.

Played multiplayer Internet games starting in 1994, helped organize clan and league games and watched the whole thing grow from there.

I started to write techno using my personal computer, no music equipment of any sort, in 1990.

There are other things but it kinda feels like I'm boasting.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've taught workshops on "How to DJ", spoken about Traumatic Brain Injuries from a patient perspective and also the independent graphics/music/programming scene called the "Demoscene" among other things that I know a-little-more-than-nothing about.
