Hello! I'm Mercedes from California. I was born and raised around Los Angeles, but I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area for university, and spend most of my time there now. Currently, I'm studying abroad at Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan, where I will be staying until August 2016.

I come from a family of immigrants from Mexico through my dad's side, and El Salvador from my mom's. Spanish was my first language and it is my favorite language as well. :) I have a strong love and appreciation for both my national culture as well as my ethnic culture.

I have been travelling across the large and beautiful state of California for the past few years, and have discovered my love for travel anywhere I can reach! I traveled across the United States a couple of times only for business. In Japan, I've gone to as many places as I could from Okinawa t Hokkaido.

I enjoy travelling alone because my methods of travelling aren't the most luxurious, and I feel guilty dragging someone along with me in that sense. But I am very friendly and almost always make new friends.

As a college student, i don't exactly have the budget for comfortable hotels. I am okay with hostels, but I'd much rather stay with Japanese people and rest in a warm and welcoming setting than alone.

Intereses

Music- Rap, Hip-Hop, Classic Rock, Spanish Pop/Rock

Sports- I play tennis and used to play soccer (still up for it although I'm no good!) and I love fitness
