ABOUT ME

I'm a small town girl looking to explore the world. My dad's thirst for adventure and stories of his travels has fed my love for different cultures, foods, and experiences.

In April 2014 we moved from Canada to Orlando Florida. Now I'm enjoying sweet tea and learning to raise my two kids in the sunny south.

The key things in my life are:
Creativity/Novelty: From painting, to a new adventure, creativity and novelty are things I need in my life to keep me going.
Faith: I spend lots of time thinking, reading and talking with friends about my desire to know God/Jesus more.
People time: I need a satisfying dose of time with people, whether that comes as a night of laughter, exploration, or discussion.

PHILOSOPHY

I think we all have soul cravings in life that can only be filled with a relationship with God. I crave meaning - what is my life all about? I crave destiny - there has to be something beyond me. I crave intimacy - I want to be known entirely (good and bad) and be loved at the same time. I'm learning to let these deep cravings be satisfied in God.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm glad to have people into our home. 2010 marked the first year I was able to have people come stay with us. I hope people take us up on the offer so we can meet new people and show them the great city we live in.
If I'm going to travel I want to have the CouchSurfing experience to be apart of it - getting to know the locals is just as valuable as seeing the sights in my mind.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've stood where the Industrial Revolution began. Thanks to my couch surfing experience in Scotland, our host showed us where James Watt invented the steam engine. I've explored Central Park and ate a great pita in NY. Our host in HK showed us a fishing island on our 2 day stay. We've hosted in Canada and now will host visitors in USA.

I could choose from things I've seen, fun activities or places I've been but I think marring my husband was one of the most amazing things I've done. I was so blind to how good he would be for me. It took a huge leap of faith to trust him care for me. Wouldn't you know it, his stable nature let's my creativity thrive.

I love painting with people - I can teach people how to look at an object and paint it, or think through a concept of art to make.
