ABOUT ME

I like to try my hand at different things. I'm a bit of a dreamer and get easily excited and passionate about a new venture, however I'm also easily distracted and rarely follow through to any significant degree. As a result my house is full of the beginnings of projects / hobbies... instruments (some of which I can play ok and some which I can't at all), spanish and french language books, sewing machine, and a vegie garden in the making.

I value passion, open mindedness, and learning. I love reading, and I'm a massive foodie.. I enjoy cooking (more so for company) but also dedicate a good portion of my life to sampling the endless amazing restaurants/bars in Melbourne. If you like cheese as much as I do I am sure we will get along.

I love to travel, experience new things, and meet new people. Good company and a beer in the sun puts a smile on my face every time. I work a lot, but whenever I'm free I'm keen to go an see a band play, see some live comedy, go to the beach, or check out whatever else is happening in Melbourne. I like keeping fit and enjoy all sorts of outdoor activities like rock climbing and sailing, so if I'm free I'm always interested in doing these kind of things with you (disclaimer - im not an expert at any of these things, it's just fun!).

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have surfed a few times and have finally moved in to a house where I can host, so I'm looking forward to returning the favour and meeting some new people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed a bit over the last few months, and have had a ball. I've met a lot of people through participating in CSing events etc. I'm so glad that I got involved in the scene as it really changed my experience of the towns i've been traveling in. I've met so many cool people and made some great friends; it opened up a whole new world!

Music, Movies, and Books

Books - I like reading all sorts. Probably my favourites were Kite Runner and the Book Thief. I just finished Anna Karenina which was enough of a struggle to feel like an accomplishment, and now I'm reading freakonomics (I know I'm a bit late on that bandwagon)

Movies - I like all kinds of movies; too hard to narrow it down. I become horrifyingly addicted to trashy TV shows.. especially now that we have netfilx in the house

Music - at the moment I'm listening to mostly folk/gypsy music, and 'shoe gaze' (a genre i've just discovered but still not quite sure what it means). But again, I like all kinds of music it just depends on my mood.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Toasted a marshmallow off the heat of a rock on top of an active volcano in Guatemala.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to ride a bike with no hands, crack an egg with one hand, and make an espresso martini.

I would love it if you could teach me any of the following things!
- how our political system works (i can't understand it, it's too confusing)
-walk on a tightrope
- roll a cigarette
- help me with my terrible Spanish
- make a good pad thai
- card games
- grow corriander
