ABOUT ME

Swedish hobo who grew up in Lisbon with my bohemian family. Later worked in Barcelona. I speak a lot of European languages and recently decided that I ought to do something about my narrow indoeuropeanness and learn Chinese.

PHILOSOPHY

Do people really have personal philosophies? Don't we just live and act according to a mix of instincts and experiences, selfishness and altruism... And then we might find some nice words somewhere and feel "hey, that's how I live" and post it on our profiles, imagining that we are actually like that, that we live by that code - although we don't. But that's good, I'd rather live in a world of deliciously incongruent and imperfect humans than in a world of robots programmed to "Learn, Love & Laugh".

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

First ran into some some CS:rs in Budapest. Then met up with a group in Beijing. No hosting or actual sleeping on couches so far.

Interests

Learning. I tend to get manically interested in something for 6 hours, 6 weeks or 6 months, and then get bored and move to something else.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like comedy series such as Curb Your Enthusiasm, Party Down, Parks and Recreation.

I used to be a long-haired reggae-head. Then came old-school soul, Frank Zappa, Talking Heads... Now it's mainstream beard-rockers like Band of Horses.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I typically don't get amazed! I always imagine things to be more amazing than they are in real life... and then go "is this it?". However, the real world can often be more quietly nice/pleasant/agreeable than I envisage. Which is almost better, it sounds awfully tiring to have to get amazed all the time.

Teach, Learn, Share

I don´t really know any field well - just lot's of bits and pieces.
