About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Healing with Feeling. Nurture with Nature.

ABOUT ME

I enjoy living in rural splendor. Looking after the land is very important to me. My home is like a tranquil fairy tale. I live in an unusual house, which is warm and comfortable. Fergus, (my husband) and I enjoy playing with the landscape, entwining creativity with the beauty of nature. I appreciate creativity, healing and unusual minds.
I have worked in theatre, arts, community, healing and currently wish to encompass all of the above.

PHILOSOPHY

I will have to grow this one and it will be forever changing, like the seasons and the times in which we live. As Joseph Campbell said: 'Follow your bliss'. I am far more interested in feelings than thoughts. 'Healing with Feeling' would summarize my current aim in life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Community is essential in the times in which we live. I have now hosted a few surfers. I am really only interested in hosting people who share some common interests with me or have something to add to life. I suffer from a long term chronic illness which often means I have little physical energy, so it does not work if my guests are a lot of hassle. I love company and I am passionate about food. I am also open to the possibility that I will not always be unwell:)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Zero that are strictly CS . . .they are arriving! so far so good . . . but . . . I have stayed with many people and also had many to stay. My home loves creative beings. When I was younger and traveling, occaisionally I would meet someone who would offer me wonderful hospitality. I like to return this and begin to participate in it again too! I hitched EVERYWHERE until I was 30.

Interests

Creativity. Nature. Healing. Preferably in combination. I attend a drumming circle which is magical powerful stuff and anyone is welcomed, it doesn't matter that you have never drummed before - that happens on Mondays! But not during summer. I am exploring sacred, spiritual, creative, community, growing food, healing, writing, intuition. i love playing outside in the dirt! Singing in the wind. Nuturing. Also you may like to know, I am passionate about food - I cook from the heart and can cater for any diet. We grow organically.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a fantastic movie projector looking for films. I don't do horror or cartoons. Happy go Lucky, Anam Cara, The Dish. My Architect. the English Patient. A Knights Tale. Billy Elliott. Stop It! Bueona Vista Social Club. Saturday Night- Sunday Morning. I grew (literally) up on Warhol movies. Andy Goldsworthy documentary. Un Homme et une Femme. Singing in the Rain. Casablanca. Old Broadway musicals. Waverider.

Authors:Kate Atkinson, Tom Robbins, Niall Williams. ee cummings. Jung. Richard Brautigan.
Have been known to play tenor sax in a rusty fashion.

Music: Always listening out for new sounds. I don't do sentimental pap or H.F. (Head F***): music that you need to be smashed out of your brains to appreciate ! I enjoy a wide range of music from Bach, Fionn Regan, Kila, Leonard Cohen. Mouldy Peaches. Listened to Incredible String Band as a teenager. Was privildged to go to loads of amazing concerts as a teenager/young woman.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Giving birth to my daughter, 19 years ago was perhaps the biggest miracle -I joined the secret society of Motherhood!
Singing to the full moon in the Sahara desert. Singing to the c8,000 trees that have been planted on my land and watching them grow. Embracing giant redwoods in California. Travelling in the open back of a truck in the Atlas Mountains. Almost dying and being here to tell the tale. The scent of the earth when the sun shines after rain fall. Does this make me a tree hugger? Would prefer to embrace my inner wild woman.

Teach, Learn, Share

Healing with Feeling which goes hand in hand with Nuture with Nature. I would love the opportunity for more performance, sacred clown and bawdy humour especially appeal - though my own sense of humour is quite bizarre:) :) :)

Brunei Darussalam, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, United Kingdom, United States
