Hello there! My name is Maria Elena, but my friends (and not only) generally call me Mery. If you ask them to tell you something about me, they'll said that I'm a free bird constantly on the move. Which is true, I cannot hang around the same place for too long. And I consider myself very lucky because I've always managed to take off and go whenever I felt the need to. I'm quite easygoing, curious and open to new cultures and anything that completely differs from my native background. I love my home, but again, I love it more when I'm not in it! ;)

The reason why I finally decided to join the community of couch surfing is because is the perfect tool to realize my dreams. Meeting people and keep on traveling. I think the best aspect of it is getting to know new people and SHARE your experiences and part of your life with them. And again it always feels good to help each other out, even when you don't know each other at all.!

I like traveling. That I would say, it's my main interest. Followed by languages. Teaching languages. Learning languages. Hiking. Singing. Enjoying little things in life. Trying out new things, especially food. Discovering.

Don't have a favorite type of music, but if I had to name a singer I really like, that would be Ingrid Michaelson.
And I go crazy for musicals! Although I'm no expert in the genre, I get overexcited when I hear songs from a musical and can't help but acting out as if I was part of it.
