PHILOSOPHY

"Don't hurt, don't get hurt". Although I don't know pretty much anything about the whole Karma thing, I tend to believe that caring for those around you will bring you peace of mind. Yet, watch your back.

I once heard a little story (probably as common as the one about Jesus and the footprints).

A very old man was in bed, waiting for death to come and he started meditating about his life. 'When I was young and passionate, I tried to change the whole world by myself - he thought-. And I failed. Then, disappointed, I tried to change those around me - he thought regretfully-. I failed'. After a while, he realised: 'If I had just been able to change myself, I wouldn't have wasted my entire life'.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm willing to get more involved in the CS experience as I believe the trust-based comunity it's created is a huge leap towards a better world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My experience as traveller/backpacker/surfer/whatever is rather short.

Hosted

Rafael, Mexico. 1 day.

Hosted by

Paulinha, Lisbon, Portugal. 2 days (Lisbon Invites You).

---OLD STUFF---
I used CS earlier this year (2008) along with my sister in our weeken trip to Brussels. We spent the night in a strange place. We arrived to an abandoned-looking building, managed to get in and discovered that our hosts lived in a surrealistic loft. All kinds of strange art and weird stuff everywhere. We introduced ourselves using some English and some of my rusty French... It turned up to be a great night: we met everyone in the house, including Cheval, their cat. We all had an interesting conversation. Finally, we went to bed and I fell asleep watching an amazing view of the city... and the cat woke me up in the morning by scartching my feet!!!

Interests

Music (mainly rock and metal; I play the guitar), cinema and series, photography, reading. I also enjoy playing videogames alone or with friends, hanging out or staying home with them. I also love cooking, specially when my friends come over for lunch or dinner. Of course, I love travelling (that's why I am in CS).
I recently discovered board games, in particular 'Settlers of Catan' and 'Citadels', which I love to play.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Throughout my life I have learn many (and by 'many' I mean 'MANY'), dialogues from 'The Simpsons' and 'Futurama' by heart, and have found out there is always an episode with which I can identify every single situation in my life. Pretty akward, right? ;)

Teach, Learn, Share

I guess I could teach a few recipes in case you're interested in cooking (or got fed up with Heinz's Beked Beans). Some of them were accidentally created by myself (nothing fancy: mostly chicken and rice... and another one for pasta which I don't remember very well)!!!

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, France, Ireland, Italy, Morocco, Portugal, United Kingdom
